Getting Things Done
Like any other habit, learning to stop putting things off for later is something that will take time. Creating the self discipline to "do it now," rather than put if off is a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. Lifestyle changes should always be approached with baby steps.
Here's how to get started...
Recognize. Learn to recognize tasks that you always seem to put off or avoid. Spend a week or two making a list of these tasks each time you recognize one.
Prioritize. Once you have a list of tasks that you typically delay, prioritize your list, putting the tasks that would have the biggest impact on your organization first.
Organize. Start with the first task on your list. Concentrate on only one task at a time so you do not become overwhelmed. Find a simple solution to the problem and work on getting into the habit of doing that task immediately instead of putting it off for later.
Continue working on one task at a time until doing that task right away, instead of putting it off, has become second nature. Only then are you ready to move on to the next task on your list.
You will begin to notice that when you take a few extra seconds to organize now rather than waiting for later you will be far less overwhelmed and your life will run a lot more smoothly.
OMG girl, you look so GOOD!!! Those lbs (or do they do kilos in Japan?) are just melting off of you! Way to go!!!
ReplyDeleteI loved this post. I've been slacking off about food storage, and I finally took your advice and went to Home Deopt: I found food grade paint buckets and they were CHEAP! HF always provides a way, doesn't He? :) Good thing He's got all of our backs!
On a side note (I know I'm writing a lot), Lincoln was on my lap when I went to this blog, and he saw your pic and said over and over "That's Sam! That's Sam!" He was so happy to see you!
Miss you! :)
